Our Executive Director, Gary W. Jackson, was the recepient of a retirement luncheon this month as he departs
his position as the Executive Assistant, Office of the Adjutant General, a position he has served in for the past
eleven years. His plans are to remain active in the ESGR and continue as Executive Director. He received many
accolades and awards for his past service including one from Governor Brad Henry. Congratulations to you GW!
Committee Member Terry Moore organized a Military Appreciation Day at the Job
Corps Center in Tulsa on May 18th. The Adjutant General, Major General Harry M. Wyatt III and OKESGR
State Chairman John Hubbard were the guest speakers. The Pryor Thunderbird Youth Academy sent their color
guard. After the patriotic ceremony seven Statements of Support were signed! Good job Terry! Other OKESGR
members attending were Peggy Campbell, Judy Hindman, Bill Layton, and Walt
Cross.
During the month of May we obtained 41 Statements of Support. Good, but we need to keep working at
it. The ombudsmen and this office fielded 25 Guard and Reserve employment questions with the bulk of them processed
and completed.
