(Edmonson County), Kentucky. James is buried on a private farm in Brownsville overlooking the Green River.
Pvt William Alfred Johnson
William Alfred Johnson, born about 1839 in Barren County, Kentucky, died January
9, 1865 in Jeffersonville Indiana (Joe Holt Hospital) from gangrene due to a gunshot wound received at the Battle of Atlanta
and typhoid fever contracted at the hospital.
